PPGA Soft Launch @ Sheraton Towers
The Birth of a New Association
A soft-launch for the Promotional Products & Giftware Association (PPGA) was recently held on 1st Dec 2005 at the Sheraton Towers. The event was attended by more than 50 guests from the giftware and promotional products industry in Singapore.
To provide a brief insight into the background of PPGA, it was an idea conceived by a handful of players within the giftware and promotional products industry in Singapore. These progress-oriented players felt that there was a need to form a relevant and dynamic new association that is able to meet the needs and challenges of today and the future, in order to achieve further development in the industry.
Their sentiments proved to be accurate when membership of the new association was well-subscribed even at pre-launch stage. In his inaugural speech, Mr Stanley Tan, President of PPGA stated, “It is very encouraging to note that within 2 months’ of the association’s inception, it has already successfully attracted more than 40 members. The association aims to double its membership by the middle of next year”.
As an association conceived “by the industry, for the industry”, PPGA’s mission is to foster growth of the giftware and promotional products industry in Singapore. This is to be achieved through encouraging local product branding and design initiatives, providing business matching services, promoting & supporting the interests of the industry, improving professionalism and service level as well as knowledge sharing. The association will also uphold values such as being socially responsible and impartial, with the needs and objectives of the industry as a whole taking precedence over individual benefits.
The Promotional Products & Giftware Association (PPGA) will be officially launched during the Opening Ceremony of Singapore Gifts & Premiums Fair (SGPF)/ Stationery&OfficeLink (SOL) on 26th July 2006 at Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre.
